The facts

What it is

PR9.1 runs 1.9 km, source: IFCN, read August 26, 2026 between Queimadas and Pico das Pedras, on the same levada as PR9 but on a stretch adapted for reduced mobility. It is one of only two adapted routes on the island; the other is PR6.8 Levada do Paul II at Rabaçal.

IFCN does not publish a difficulty grading or a walking time for either of them, which is a gap on the official pages rather than an omission here.

The fee question, honestly

The route appears in IFCN’s register of Classified Walking Routes managed by IFCN, which is the list that carries the fee and booking regime. On that basis the standard €4.50, source: IFCN, 2026, read August 26, 2026 applies.

What IFCN does not do is itemise the adapted routes in its tariff. People with a registered disability of 60%, source: IFCN, 2026, read August 26, 2026 or more, plus one accompanying legal guardian each, are exempt from payment on production of proof, and still have to be registered on the booking. Anyone relying on that exemption should check it on SIMplifica rather than on this page.

What is not perfect about it

IFCN publishes a single trail tariff and does not itemise the adapted routes separately, so the fee treatment here is inferred from the register rather than stated. The official trail page also omits the difficulty grading and the walking time. Confirm both on SIMplifica before travelling.
